Hauptstadt: Belfast

Bis 1972 war Nordirland in die sechs Grafschaften Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Derry (Londonderry) und Tyrone gegliedert.
Ab 1973 bestand Nordirland aus 26 Distrikten.

Seit dem 1. April 2015 ist Nordirland in elf Distrikte eingeteilt. Hierbei handelt es sich um:
• Belfast (City)
• Antrim and Newtownabbey (Borough)
• Ards and North Down (Borough)
• Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon (District)
• Causeway Coast and Glens (District)
• Derry City and Strabane (District)
• Fermanagh and Omagh (District)
• Lisburn and Castlereagh (District)
• Mid and East Antrim (District)
• Mid Ulster (District)
• Newry, Mourne and Down (District)
